The history of Harry Potter

Who invented it? Harry Potter was invented by J.K.Rowling. Joanne Rowling was born on 31st July 1965 at Yate General Hospital just outside Bristol, and grew up in Gloucestershire in England and in Chepstow, Gwent, in south-east Wales. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published by Bloomsbury, the publisher of all Harry Potter books in the United Kingdom, on 26 June 1997.

Where was it invented/made? J.K. Rowling first had the idea for Harry Potter while delayed on a train traveling from Manchester to London King’s Cross in 1990. Over the next five years, she began to plan out the seven books of the series. She wrote mostly in longhand and amassed a mountain of notes, many of which were on scraps of paper.
She arrived in Edinburgh in 1993 with three chapters of Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone in her suitcase. By now she had a baby daughter, Jessica, but she continued to write in every spare moment she could find. When Joanne had finished the manuscript, she sent the first three chapters to a number of literary agents, one of whom wrote back asking to see the rest of it. She says that it was ‘the best letter I had ever received in my life’.

Why did it become a thing? After finishing the first book and whilst training as a teacher, Harry Potter was accepted for publication by Bloomsbury. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone quickly became a bestseller on publication in 1997. As the book was translated into other languages, Harry Potter started spreading around the globe – and J.K. Rowling was soon receiving thousands of letters from fans.

How has it changed over time? Harry Potter has changed over time in the cursed child because of it being written by two different authors. (it was also a play)

What was it like when your parents were your age? Harry Potter itself was the exact same, but now all of the merchandise has changed because now we have stuff like this.
And the actuals are like this.

My animal

I chose this animal because I find it sad and interesting how they are very rare. I also find them very cute how they have big adorable eyes and a weird hanging nose.Image result for saiga antelopeImage result for saiga antelopeImage result for saiga antelopeImage result for saiga antelope

Week one reflection

The Bermuda triangle

The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle or Hurricane Alley, is a loosely-defined region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean, where a number of aircraft and ships are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Most reputable sources dismiss the idea that there is any mystery.Image result for bermuda triangle

Spaces in Marama

Clubrooms: This is a space to do some work perhaps with friends, maybe talking loudly.

In-field: The In-field,  (my personal favorite) is a place where you can let your artistic side take ahold of you. You can get a little bit messy, so long as you clean it up.

TMO: This is a space to do quiet independent work. If you want to have a small chat with your friends or play a game, then this is not the space.

Stadium: The stadium is for the whole class meetings, and when it rains a movie.

learning powers for adults

Action   My dad shows action when he is playing soccer and when he is at work.

Courage    My mum shows courage when she is at home being awesome.

Creativity   J.K.Rowling shows creativity with all of the books that she writes.

My Goal

My goal for this term is to finish all of my work, every single week. I chose this goal because sometimes I am sick so I have to take a day of, or sometimes my saxophone lesson goes on for quite a while, so if that happens this term I will try very hard.

Holidays

Holidays are good for if you ever want to catch up with your friends and to have sleepovers. They are also good for going away and having lots of fun with cousins who live far away.

Holidays are not good for if you are one of those people who LOVES school and cannot get enough of it.

Personally, I love the holidays because then I can have a sleep-in and relax.

My dad thinks I get to see my darling daughter more
and do cool things with her

My mum thinks Holidays are great because they are a break from routine. They let you refresh after a term of hard work at school and they also allow you to catch up with your cousins. For me, they are a nice break from routine and a great chance for Grandma to see more of her grandchildren.  Sometimes the holidays give me a chance to work longer hours at HDC.(Hauraki District Council)

My Monster

My monsters name is Delphi. Her powers are that she can fly, and she can become invisible. Delphi enjoys flying around towns in the night to find kittens that she can gulp down. Her hobbies are (surprisingly) knitting.
